Schulman USCAN regions sustainable raw material & formulation strategy for cost effective commercial products as well as polyolefin composites, blends & “Low Emission Compounds” for Automotive, Industrial and Consumer markets.

 Worked on the development of light weight nanocomposites as well as material composites with better interfacial adhesion using special functional groups. Developed talc based polyolefin composites and polypropylene blends for approval on specifications in automotive industry (GM, Hyundai). R&D for RheTech's well-known natural fiber processing line - "Rhevision". Involved development of various natural fiber formulations with polypropylene, process technology development for the same and engineering properties of the finished products.

 Developed in house Slush TPE materials, used as automotive interior skins for casting, foam adhesion and surface properties. Conducted focused experiments to optimize processing parameters for obtaining hot-air cast and hot-oil cast TPE and TPU materials. Established a benchmarking level for in house Thermoformable TPE and TPO materials with the aid of extensional rheology.

 Synthesized different polypropylene layered silicate nanocomposites by melt mixing and investigated the effect of surfactant chemistries, temperature, loading, and additional chemical functionalization on their melt strength and strain hardening properties through extensional rheology. Investigated structure–property relationship of nanocomposites by analyzing the extensional rheology, linear and non linear shear rheology and morphological data.
