Building Professionalism...Currently working as an Associate Software Engineer @ SimplifyVMS.I Started my internship with Simplify where I handled multiple projects like Resume parser, Job parser and Matcher (NLP use cases to extract relevant data from Resumes and Job descriptions and compare them to generate a matching scoring), R&D on Gen AI use cases and basic prompt engineering using OpenAI API integrations. Also I was a part of dedicated team working effortlessly on building rule-based chatbots (mechanism was based on real-time data transfer using web socket connections). Gained hands-on experience with building Docker Images, ECR deployment and running Containers. To achieve parallel processing of concurrent requests, implemented Asynchronous execution of APIs using asyncio library.Currently gaining experience with the Vendor Management System (VMS). A microservice based application which uses powerful REST APIs for data exchange.Showcased team collaboration through adapting standard development procedure in building new features.My contributions involved:-1) Writing robust and scalable python codes to build and integrate REST APIs using the Django REST Framework.2) Achieving 100% code coverage with unittest and pytest cases, ensuring robust functionality and preventing regressions. Periodically performed load testing using Locust and performance testing using Postman to identify and address performance bottlenecks.3) Leveraging the ORM querying mechanism by utilising optimal querying techniques like prefetch_related and Q objects.4) Writing optimised SQL queries to improve efficiency in bulk record retrievals.5) Implementing Caching mechanism using Redis Cache to optimise data retrieval of GET APIs.6) Celery jobs implementation to run background tasks in Asynchronous manner to improve efficiency of APIs.7) Achieving Read Write segregation to route incoming GET and PUT/POST requests to read database and write database respectively through django's middleware architecture.8) Context propagation: to address traceability of requests across multiple microservices, added trace id to the requests and responses through django's middleware. Also passed it to other REST calls in headers.9) Performed R&D on Kafka and it's implementation to optimise the request handling and process execution of APIs through Kafka's queuing mechanism and real time data streaming.10) And most importantly, documented each new feature and existing functionality for future reference. The API documentation was achieved through Swagger implementation.
