“Sometimes the best things in life are the things you never see coming.” - Buffy AndrewsI always thought my dream was to be serving in the hospitality industry. It seemed like a appropriate dream given my BSc in Hospitality & Tourism Studies from University of Mumbai, India. I gravitated towards working with the popular Amedia Hotel Gmbh in Germany and went on to pursue a Postgraduate Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Niagara College in Ontario, Canada.Inside though, I was deeply unfulfilled. I yearned to learn more, yearned to learn something different. I decided to pursue the Postgraduate Degree in International Business Management from Niagara College in Ontario, Canada. Post college I was set to step a foot in the corporate world. However an unprecedented family adversity changed the trajectory of my journey. I was forced to comeback to India and encounter numerous unexpected challenges. My initial approach was to wrap myself in my bedding, and go round and round in circles in my head analysing what else could I do.After much deliberation, I finally gave in my temptation of world of politics. In 2018, I decided to get my Masters in Politics, Leadership & Governance from India’s renewed MIT World Peace University, Pune. Along with it I worked as an Operations Manager at PRIME CHEM. I loved it, but it quickly became clear that it wasn't for me as a career. Finally, thanks to an introduction made by my friend, I walked into the offices of an import & export firm and I knew in a matter of minutes I'd found something that was totally me. Had I just seen the organisation's website or a job ad in a newspaper, I might never have discovered the connection I had with them. But it was made real by meeting the team, seeing the environment and getting a feel for the energy of the place.I decided to take a leap of faith once again and start my own import export venture in the form of TMG Global Exim Solutions. I won’t sugarcoat it, going after your dreams and making a big career shift again is terrifying. The stakes are high. But they're higher still if you don't do anything about it.I believe that being open to unexpected turns in the road is an important part of success. If you try to plan every step, you may miss those wonderful twists and turns.Just find your next adventure-do it well, enjoy it-and then, not now, think about what comes next.Feel free to reach out at tgconnect39@gmail.com or tmgeximsolutions@gmail.com
