About Tanner Rowland
As a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Politics and a minor in Legal Studies (with Cum Laude honors), I am a passionate young leader committed to integrating my interests in public service, the legal field and athletics. I am wired to work with others toward a common goal, navigate and overcome challenges, and cultivate a positive and encouraging environment for all to enjoy. During my undergraduate years, I completed two work opportunities in the U.S. House of Representatives as a congressional intern, conducting comprehensive research on congressional districts and compiling legislative memos to better serve the needs of constituents in the Inland Empire. As a four-year NCAA student-athlete at UC Santa Cruz, I learned how to build community by fostering an academic and athletic environment where student-athletes can succeed and grow on and off the court or field. Committed towards this goal, I became a Co-President of the UCSC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for 2023-2024. In this position, I was privileged to develop new volunteer opportunities and external partnerships for the student-athlete body. This led me to recently become an Associate Member of the NCAA National Division III SAAC, where I have had the honor of taking my role in empowering and enriching the student-athlete experience one step further by conducting work on a national scale. My mission throughout my professional career is to meaningfully contribute to something with a substantial impact on the lives of others.
