Coachella Valley

A volunteer position with the Coachella Valley Conservation Committee managing plots of land near Palm Springs. Using the ArcGIS Collector app to identify broken fences, lack of signage, trash dumping, and endangered or invasive plant or animal species. Our goal as volunteers is to identify the necessary managements needed on their many acres of land which they can easily view through the data collected.

During this summer I struggled to find work due to the pandemic and did some volunteering for the Audubon Society in San Luis Obispo. I did some native plant species restoration, working in preparing and planting native shrubs. As well as some documenting of birding sites (taking pictures and writing descriptions) for their updated birding map that used GIS software to be able to click on a point and access my pictures and description of the site.

Responsible for care, personal development, and facilitation of learningof 7-14 year old's. Provided for, lead activities, and tended to 3,000 campers each summer.Required enormous patience, adapting to ever changing situations,collaboration with co-workers, and dedication 22 hours a day, 6 days aweek.
