I have just recently graduated from Sac State with a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Math.My true passion in life has always been in video games. I have been playing games ever since I was a kid. Playing and experiencing the games themselves was not my only interest. I also found it very interesting how games were made. Who came up with the story and characters? Why were certain design decisions made? How does the code work to make certain mechanics function the way they do? These were just a few of the questions I have asked myself while playing games throughout my life.I want to become a part of the video game field, more specifically video game design and development. I really just want to help aid in the creation of the art that I consume and enjoy the most. I am willing to give my skills and talents to any company in any way I can. Having just graduated from college I am now shifting my priorities from school to work. My current place of work is Cordova Golf Course. I have been working there for almost three years now as a means to make some money while attending college. This position helped me learn to work in a group setting and communicate with others to make sure that the ship sails smoothly. Not only that but in CSC 131, an introduction to software engineering class I took in college, I worked with a team to create software for a client from the ground up.I have done a handful of projects in the past. In high school for AP Computer Science I created a fully functioning Simon Says game in Code.org. The project I mentioned in the previous paragraph had us make software that allowed the user to create and save online web forms. Our team got the entire front end working. We have a fully functioning website that lets the user create an account, sign in, and start making their web form. However, the back end was not finished and the only information saved in our database is user information.More recently I worked in a group of seven other students to complete the senior project requirement for Sac State. We found a client and built a full-stack website for them from scratch. We utilized React for the frontend, Node.js for the backend, PostGre SQL for the database, AWS for the server, and Vercel for deployment.While I have very limited career experience I am a very hard worker and try my best at everything I do.
