Born and raised in Gilmer County, located in the North Georgia mountains, I attended Gilmer High School, where I graduated with the class of 2012. I am a University of Georgia alumni, making me a third-generation bulldog, within my family. There, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from UGA’s College of Education Department of Kinesiology. Content, clinical practice, as well as, collaboration with frontrunners in the fields of health, fitness, and physical education, experiences as a student have enabled me to become a diligent, knowledgeable, and professional educator and athletic coach. I am currently enrolled and seeking a master’s degree in kinesiology, specifically coaching education, at Georgia Southern University. As an undergraduate at the University of Georgia, involvement with UGA’s Department of Recreational Sports, working every position offered, I officiated, managed, and lead numerous intramural and club sporting events offered; as a team member, I gained experience in sport management and programming, being named site manager of the year in 2018. In addition, my history, athletic background, and participation in varsity level sports, have provided me with fundamental experience that enable me to teach, coach, and support student athletes from a very broad perspective and skill proficiency level, varying in numerous sporting and competitive events. It is through my indignation for sport, physical activity, and exercise that continues to amp my interest in teaching and coaching, as I am always looking to better my knowledge and strategy for students and athletes. As a physical educator, I strive to induce vital skill and concept development, related to physical activity, sport, and exercise, to better every students’ and athletes’ lifelong social and mental well-being.
