Staff Electrical Engineer
Electrical Engineer
Electrical Engineer
• Space and RF Engineering• Circuit design, PCB layout, and test of multiple digital interface boards for a satellite hosted payload module. Featured an array of standard differential signaling and capable of power supply control.• Conceptualized and executed design verification tests of a digital I/Q generator and RF modulator for a high-rate radio. Tested and troubleshot RF products for a variety of frequency bands from L to Ka.• Created and maintained documents for products including derating analysis, comprehensive worst case analysis reports, top level interface drawings, and slice interconnect drawings.• Developed the environmental test procedures for a suite of RF space products at qualification and acceptance levels of verification.• Collaborated with test engineers on the design of Special Test Equipment (STE) and a LabView graphical user interface used for product operation. Verified and troubleshot the STE before going to use in production.
Electrical Engineer
• Circuit design, PCB layout, and test of a CubeSat radio modem board with analog IF and digital signal processing on an FPGA. Included various analog and digital I/O for applications such as RF synthesizer control, gain control, and switching.• Formed the CubeSat radio system through design and layout of a backplane, applying and contributing to the development of mission operations. Generated hardware tests at the system level (spacecraft bus and payload).• Circuit design, PCB layout, test, and delivery of a high-rate RF modem. Integrated modem unit with other subsystems in the payload.• Handled and tested flight hardware in a clean room environment.• Performed vibration and thermal vacuum acceptance testing of modem unit.• Provided presentations of technical information and other deliverable items to customers.
Electrical Design Engineer
• Lead engineer for the development of a gimbal control electronics (GCE) unit.• Designed circuit boards, involving schematic capture, power analysis, signal integrity analysis, filter design, and PCB layout.• Directing the production of build-to-print circuit cards for the GCE.• Held design review presentations and teleconferences for engineers and customers.• Responsible for technical documents and deliverables.
Engineering Intern
I have had a multifaceted experience as an Intern at Broad Reach. I have gained experience in design and test engineering with the development of ground support equipment for avionics projects and delivered GSE for the OSIRIS-REx Thermal Emission Spectrometer. Labview and MATLAB have become strong skills of mine as I augmented telemetry VI's to post-process satellite GPS data. This required that I also become familiar with a Spirent GNSS Simulator. I've done the schematic design of various electronics using Mozaix Schematic Capture Software. Working in the space industry has given me an understanding of the many policies and standards surrounding procurement and manufacturing of parts. Some other learned skills include Perl language and Visual Basic, which was used to apply NASA and JPL standards to an excel spreadsheet to easily apply derating analysis to parts. I've done PCB design and fabrication oversight for prototyping, software development, and qualification testing. I had the opportunity to hold design reviews presentations teleconferences for a team of engineers and customers and made phone calls to vendors for product sourcing.
