I am participating in a hands-on cybersecurity program where I am developing my IT problem-solving, ethical hacking, and security monitoring skills. I am facing everyday scenarios and applying my skills to locate, record, and respond to incidents successfully throughout the labs and final projects in the course.- I am installing and configuring Windows servers, using DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, Bitlocker, and PowerShell to change user and security configurations in Windows.- I am using TCP and OSI models to configure networks logically. I used Wireshark and Cisco packet tracer to analyze and troubleshoot networks. I set up a WAN for a mock bank that included three LANs and configured all network devices and endpoints to communicate with the WAN.- I configured an AWS Instance and set up security groups, organizations, and WAF for cloud architectures.- I secured a network using three different host operating systems as well as pfSense by adding firewall rules, SSH remote access, and installing a Suricata package to detect and prevent incidents.- I captured the flag on a suspicious download captured in a honeypot by using Telnet to get into a POP3 mail server, logging in with the deciphered information in the emails, and using Splunk to locate the flag in the URL.-I used the Linux OS Terminal to manage users, permissions, network security, hardening, bash scripting, and host security.- I learned the fundamentals of object-oriented programming through Python.- I was given a scenario where an employee was hiding information in her system through a web-based application and an encrypted file. I cracked the file using brute force attacks and unencrypted the information using a decoder. The decoded info led me to her web application where used the information to try to log in. I used view page source and JavaScript to find a base64 code. Finally, I found vulnerabilities to her machine using Nmap, then used Samba to escalate my privileges to root.
