“I have fought quietly to impact the culture.”- André Leon Talley. Similar to André Leon Talley, I am audacious. We both have been led by our desire to impact and shift the culture. I have always been captivated by the nonverbal story fashion tells. Fashion has illuminated this dynamic power to do, have, and be whatever one desires. I desire to be a creator, to inspire. I possess the invaluable ability to think like a fashion designer. I am imaginative, I conceptualize the world beyond the past and the present allowing for greater exploration of the future. I am led by my curiosity. This way of thinking provides me with limitless opportunities for growth and expansion.I am a graduate of Howard University School of Business. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. My college experience has allowed me to cultivate my curiosity and shown me to stay committed to my soul's charge, to inspire. Marketing has the power to alter one's perspective and impact one’s choices. As media continues to evolve, the art of storytelling has become a brand's greatest asset. Marketing allows you to connect with and influence an audience while impacting results. I began my career on the campus of Howard University as a marketing intern for Sodexo. During my internship, I had the opportunity to voice my creative ideas, advocate for students, and take initiative to implement marketing strategies. I used divergent thinking to improve sales and increase student engagement. Next, I decided to push myself beyond my comfort zone. Instead of being a part of the creative process, I became the creator. I created my first-ever fashion blog titled Thee Fashion Maven. My blog focuses on the latest fashion trends and everyday style. I used this platform to highlight and celebrate black-owned clothing brands and black designers. Due to my refusal to be complacent, I valued vision refinement and continuous improvement above all else. Most recently, I have worked as a Strategic Planning Consultant and the Assistant Registrar of Voters for the town of Bloomfield, Connecticut. Throughout these opportunities, I enhanced productivity through transformational leadership. I utilized my strong interpersonal skills, ability to motivate others, and effective oral and written communication skills. As a young professional, I desire to learn, discover, and experience more. I am pursuing a career path that provides fulfillment besides monetary value. I am seeking opportunities that allow me to amplify my impact and impart my ideas and creative direction.
