I was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia where I developed a passion for two things: Basketball and Entrepreneurship. I set a goal at the age of 13 to be able to graduate college with zero debt by earning a full athletic scholarship. For the entirety of my childhood, my weekends consisted of travel, practices, and tournaments, keeping my end goal in mind through it all. In my free time, I explored the world of business. At 16, I started my first business selling used and discounted new sneakers. In addition, I ran a pet sitting business with a friend and trained local youth basketball players.The same year, my childhood goal became a reality as I received my first full scholarship offer to continue my basketball career. In high school, I was ranked one of the top 50 players in Virginia and would go on to accept an offer to play at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. My freshman year, I was met with many trials. I was diagnosed with a passive heart condition which medically disqualified me from playing basketball any longer. Fortunately, I was able to pivot. In February of 2022, I started a business called Tanztees where I would travel to numerous thrift stores searching for clothing items to then sell online. I went on to create Tanztees.com and expand my customer base nationwide. Since the creation of Tanztees, I have generated over $35,000 in sales and gained experience in all areas of business as the sole proprietor. Outside of my business, I have worked in the University office of Advancement at Southeastern University, for Caton Companies as a Pool Attendant, and for JM&A group as a content marketing intern.
