Saint Luke'S East Hospital

I was brought on by contract for the Windows 10 migration project at Saint Lukes East Hospital. Another contractor and I performed migrations to Windows 10 from Windows 7 in a clinical environment with over 1,000 desktops/laptops and 800+ thin clients. I also provided desktop support using ServiceNow to resolve incidents and requests. SCCM was used to image and deploy devices but most device configuration was handled by the custom image created by the Desktop team. I was also involved in the iOS upgrade and support of 500 iPhone 6S devices used by staff on the floor. Jamf was the MDM used to manage these phones.

Kansas City, Missouri Area

I was an MIS Intern with the Application Development team within the IT department of UMB Bank. During the first summer the team I interned for was tasked with developing a proof-of-concept mobile application for retail customers. I was able to work with the product, IBM Worklight, to create hybrid mobile applications. I created wireframes and built a basic prototype using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript with the JQuery Mobile and Cordova frameworks. I integrated Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube APIs into the prototype, as well as, a ‘find my location’ function using Apache Cordova plugins. I gained experience by sitting in on Scrums and observing as the team developed in 2 week Agile sprints.The company took the mobile application project in a different direction while I was back in classes, and the following summer I was asked to use Splunk to analyze application logs. I created a dashboard that monitored the status of the applications and servers managed by my team. My work included learning Splunk's Search Processing Language, correctly formatting queries, and monitoring the logs of target applications. Culminating in the creation of a webpage showing the status of these systems that my team was responsible for. The statuses would change as certain thresholds were exceeded on metrics such as response time.
