I am responsible for answering phone calls from a wide range of people. They range from fellow employees trying to violate company policy, to deaths in the family inquiring about our "deceased customer" policy, technical calls, and to flat out verbal abuse through a phone line. I am the first admit that I have been a very sensitive person in the past. However, it took about three angry phone calls before I decided to not be so sensitive anymore. I will be the first to tell you that I am not particularly fond of being on the phones. However, I am not going to deny that this job has strengthened my character. I am also a perfectionist. Even if I had to shovel horse droppings and I was given an hour to shovel 200 droppings, it would eat at me for the rest of the day if I achieved 199. This has shown at my short time at Dish. The average handle time goal per call is 6:10, I'm hitting 5:57; customer satisfaction goal is an average of 4 based on a customer survey, I achieved eight scores of 5 and one one; the Quality Assurance goal is 4.4, mine was 4.75. Even if it something I do not enjoy doing, I will work my tail off until I am hitting goals and performing to the best of my abilities. The reason I decided to leave is because I want to find a job in which I actually enjoy.
  • Regis University
Co-Editor-In-Chief Of The Regis Highlander Newspaper

    Denver, Co, Us
This would be the first time that I would be conducting interviews opposed to being the interviewee. After hiring new employees, it was time for brainstorming about how to bring up readership. We held meetings every Sunday that I would be in charge of leading. I would be responsible to delegate who would lead different discussions. One idea I had for the organization is that we needed to cover more sports games. Regis is a small school, so the athletes make up a greater proportion of the students than most universities. I led the coverage initially because I needed to train fellow students how to write sports articles, interview athletes, and have them up on our website the next day. First I had to do some in-game coverage myself. It was very fast paced and at first difficult to notate the action of Regis basketball games. Something I am not sure I could do. However, I am very happy that I was able to not only successfully write articles for the games but was able to actually train fellow writers (who were usually two-three years older than me) to write these stories and how to interview athletes right after competition. Now, there are athletes on school who read every sport article not only about their sport but other athlete's as well. Most of these students did not even know a student newspaper existed. The other very large aspect of being a Co-Editor, was editing. There were nights that I would be up until 2 in the morning reviewing articles from writers. I am someone that has to go over something three or four times to make sure everything is to my satisfaction. Sometimes this results in a slower pace but there were very few errors in our articles. We were obtaining and increase in the number of students reading our paper. However, we did not want students picking up the paper to mock the errors in our paper. That would be unacceptable.
