In his role as a Project Engineer for STRABAG, Tanner has worked on multiple pre-qualification submittals, as well as project estimation tenders as part of the project acquisition team. Tanner was asked to return for a second co-operative education term with Strabag at the Southeast Collector Sewer (SeC) project in Pickering, Ontario. In this role, Tanner was responsible for aiding the Tunneling Engineers with management of the tunnel boring project. The SeC project consisted of four 3m diameter Earth-Pressure-Balance (EPB) Tunnel Boring.

The Southeast Collector Sewer (SeC) project in Pickering, Ontario consisted of four 3m diameter Earth-Pressure-Balance (EPB) Tunnel Boring Machines, drilling approximately 16km of tunnels in York Region. Geotechnical soil laboratory work conducting tests on provided soil samples from clients. Tests included Proctor and Modified Proctor values, moisture content, sieve analysis, L.A. Abrasion testing, and others. Nuclear densometer density testing of compaction and roadworks.Field testing and remote site work, with on-site times of up to 30 days.
