Worked with Visual Merchandising team to coordinate placement of new merchandise and inventories of furniture and accessories, which enabled me to develop a sense of independence and how to solve problems when faced with adversities. Being placed in an environment where interactions with other co-workers were imperative to ensure that sales can proceed smoothly, not only did it highlight the need for effective communication, it further emphasizes the importance of teamwork to overcome any unforeseen challenges that we, as a visual merchandising group were able to overcome together.I was tasked with an important role in designing, purchasing and brainstorming different ideas to enhance the pop-up displays. As such, I had to meticulously decide on the costs, benefits and possible constraints of ideas that I came up with, and how it would have a positive impact on sales revenue in totality. Being entrusted with such responsibilities, I learnt proper time management as well as organization capabilities in order to improve my work efficacy. Having to juggle between serving customers as a waitress taught me the importance of adequate customer service, as well as crisis management in face of unforeseen obstacles like angered customers that were unhappy with the long waiting time, where I had to persuade and calm the customers down. Being placed in a rushed environment, having effective communication and teamwork amongst crew members were crucial to a good service. Having to work with different people of diverse backgrounds made me understand the importance of cohesiveness in a working environment.
