About Tan Shin Yin

Since secondary school, I have been actively involved in leadership roles. I served as the President of the Squash Club, organizing weekly activities to introduce members to squash techniques and current regulations to generate interest in the sport. I have also actively participated in squash competitions at the school and district level.Additionally, I am a member of Girl Guides. I achieved the "Champion Level" in the Plastic Tide Turners Challenge at the national level. I volunteered for the challenge to address plastic pollution, engaging in various activities such as reducing plastic usage, promoting "plastic-free" initiatives on social media, creating posters, picking up plastic waste in the community, organizing online campaigns, and raising awareness about plastic-related issues. I achieved the "Champion Level," uploaded 49 posts, and gained 41 followers on the chspj_tideturners Instagram account.Furthermore, I have been appointed as a school Prefect since Form 1 and was selected as the Assistant Head of Special Affairs in the Prefect Board during Form 4 and 5. As a result, I was awarded the "Excellent Leadership Award" in 2021.In Kolej Matrikulasi Selangor, I held positions as the Vice President of the Co-curricular Class and the Treasurer of the Taekwondo Club. I also served as a committee member in the Kelab Pendidikan Luar and acted as a project manager for KMS Got Talents and Ambang Merdeka under the Sekretariat Rukun Negara (SRN). These experiences have helped me develop interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers.Moreover, I have been a Pembimbing Rakan Dinamik (PRD) member, providing support to peers in terms of their mental, social, and emotional well-being. This experience has helped me better understand the needs of customers and better assist them. In addition, my experience as a customer assistant at Watson and sales assistant in Caring Pharmacy not only allows me to hit the ground running and quickly adapt to a retail environment but has also enhanced my ability to learn rapidly. This valuable experience has significantly developed my interpersonal skills, enabling me to effectively communicate with customers. Moreover, I strongly emphasize the value of teamwork and collaboration, understanding that optimizing customer outcomes and achieving goals can be best accomplished through collective efforts.
