I am a current student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham studying Biomedical Engineering. The skills I have obtained as a result of engineering include 3D modeling techniques, mathematical modeling capabilities, and problem solving abilities. I have extensive experience in professionalism and leadership as the current president of the UAB Ambassador program. I learned how to be decisive in difficult situations as well as manage the balance between friend and leader which proved to be challenging but rewarding. Furthermore, I have learned cultural sensitivity and have broadened my perspective from the time I served as a UAB International Mentor. On my personal time, I use art to de-stress and express my creative side. With Procreate on my iPad, I have spent hours working on pieces that range from realistic portraits to abstract creations. Art is both my escape and source of inspiration. Art has trained my eye to pay close attention to details and has heightened my analytical skills in day to day life. I enthusiastically seek to push myself out of my comfort zone in order to gain experience and practice self-growth - the driving force of my life choices. Overall, my strengths as an applicant are being personable, attentive to detail, and highly logical.
