I am studying Level 4 Fashion Buying and Merchandising at the Fashion Retail Academy. Through this program, I have gained comprehensive knowledge of the hierarchy and functions of Buying and Merchandising teams and the vital roles these teams play in the fashion industry. My coursework has given me a deep understanding of how fashion evolved and how cultural, social, and technological factors impact fashion trends. Additionally, we have studied the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the retail industry.Furthermore, I have conducted comparative analyses of various brands, evaluating their financial performance, product launches, sustainability practices, and product assortments. I have developed an in-depth understanding of strategic analysis tools such as SWOT, PESTEL, and the 4Ps of marketing, which are crucial for making informed business decisions. The course has also given me insights into trend analysis and range planning, emphasizing the importance of aligning decisions with the brand and its customers. We have gained the ability to make well-informed decisions regarding the countries we source from, understand the reasoning behind these decisions, and explore new technologies and sustainability initiatives within the retail industry.
