BC school system ranks 1st in the world in reading, 2nd in science, and 6th in math according to PISA ranking 2015.At the Data Science Lab of BC Ministry of Education, I designed a socioeconomic index at student-level, school-level, and school-district level by combining BC student-level data with Canadian census data using student postal code information and census geocode information. Used Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method. It has been put to use as a key control variable for project/policy/program evaluations, in predictive models of successful graduation, performance assessment models of schools and school districts, and as a way to measure inequality in education provision after taking into account variations in socioeconomic profile.Developed a student wellbeing index based on 3-year survey responses of students at school and district level (two-stage Factor analysis model). I applied natural language processing models to analyze responses to open-ended text-based survey responses using machine-learning algorithms.Approximated the causal effect of participation in Grade 4 and Grade 7 assessment exams on future on-time graduation rate and GPA, by matching participants with their 'statistical-twin' non-participants using Coarsened Exact Matching method. Used R, SQL, and Python.

The assignment was a component of PSES III (Promotion of Social and Environmental Standards in the Industry) - a joint project by the Governments of Bangladesh and Germany, implemented by GIZ. I prepared case studies on business models, international experiences, and contractual arrangements for industrial sludge management; proposed business model options suitable for replication in Bangladesh, and outlined draft contractual arrangements.The cases are being used as learning materials in several Asian country offices of GIZ.

IPAG is an international think-tank based in Bangladesh that works on economic development and regional cooperation. (Ranked #26th 'think-tanks to watch' and #42nd 'think-tanks in international development' in 'Global Think Tank Index Report 2017' the Lauder Institute, University of Pennsylvania).I made the following panel presentations as an invited panelist on international dialogues and seminars:1) “Coastal Tourism & Urbanization: Challenges, Opportunities, & Way Forward” in IORA Blue Economy Dialogue, Delhi, India.2) “3 Quick-win Ideas to Boost Tourism and Connectivity in the North Eastern States” in Northeast Connectivity Summit, Agartala, India.3) “3 Quick-win Ideas to Boost Sustainable Power Sector Development in South Asia” in a capacity building session for energy sector ministry officials of 8 SAARC nations, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

e.Gen is an international consulting firm with experience in successful preparation/implementation of development projects in Asia and Africa.In 3 years, I secured 9 consulting contracts in 7 countries as bid preparation manager and/or lead technical writer with a cumulative contract awards value of US$ 9 million.As a lead proposal writer, I carried out research, formulated competitive bidding strategies, and authored the technical proposal including designing methodology, approach, work plan, and staffing plan. As bid preparation manager, I lead a team of 4-7 personnel in all aspects of proposal preparation, while also collaborating with a multinational team of sectoral experts relevant for the particular project from around the world in different time zones, after seeking them out based on requirement of the proposal, reaching out to them, negotiating with them, and recruiting them.Proposed a re-engineering of business process for recruitment of project-based sectoral experts as a competitive strategy, which was adopted and implemented by the organization, resulting in a streamlined process with efficiency gains.
