LinkedIn BioI am a General Surgery Physician Assistant in a smaller community hospital, responsible for all levels of care for General Surgery patients; from the OR, to the units, to the outpatient surgery clinic. I am a board certified PA-C, with a Master's in Physician Assistant Studies. I have experience in first assisting with laparoscopic, robotic and open surgical procedures. In addition, I was the first PA hired into the General Surgery Department. With this, I have been responsible for the training of an additional PA hired, and educating support staff on the care of Surgical patients. During my PA training, I did an extended surgical opportunity, which included additional training in General Surgery, Breast Cancer Surgery, and OBGYN Surgery. I am a Fellow of the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants, and the 2017 winner of their Susan and Thomas Lusty Memorial Scholarship. My career interests include both General Surgery and OBGYN. Prior to becoming a PA, I worked in an OBGYN office, and was also a teacher for many years. This education background makes me uniquely capable in patient education, and the training of new Physician Assistants, as well as support staff.
Listed skills include Surgical Assisting, Suturing, Bls Certified, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and 24 others.
