As a Fiscal Policy Adviser, I provide accurate, concise and timely advice to the Prime Minister of Australia and prepare high quality briefings to support the Government’s consideration of policy, legislation, budgetary and topical issues. I engage confidently in policy development to enable policy leads across the Department to better understand how the Government’s Fiscal and Economic Strategy influences decision-making. I also foster a positive culture within the organisation through talent acquisition as a panellist responsible for recruiting the Department's graduate cohort.Prior to this, I worked as an Energy Policy Adviser, where I influenced Australia’s clean energy policy agenda by overseeing policy products for the Prime Minister of Australia and the Minister for Climate Change and Energy. I strategised ministerial and industry engagement for the highest profile international forum hosted by Australia in 2022, the Sydney Energy Forum, in partnership with the International Energy Agency. I directed 17 policy analysts that coordinated ministerial representation from 5 countries (USA, Japan, India, Indonesia and Samoa) and secured CEO-level participation from 12 industry and intergovernmental organisations.When I first joined the Department, I was based in the Office for Women where I navigated parliamentary processes to implement the Respect@Work: Sexual Harassment National Inquiry Report’s recommendations, marking a milestone towards preventing sexual violence within Australian workplaces.

I conducted a critical appraisal of the OECD’s Blended Finance Guidance. Based in the Development Cooperation Directorate, I contributed to improving the strategic use of development finance for the mobilisation of additional commercial finance towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in developing countries. To complete this project, I developed and maintained collaborative working relationships with OECD colleagues, and I valued and drew from their diversity in both subject matter expertise and cultural background.I was selected by the OECD from the University of Cambridge’s MPhil in Public Policy 2022-23 cohort of 32 students to complete a four-month work placement. Formal arrangements between the University of Cambridge and partner organisations seek to bridge academia and policymaking.

I led an information campaign to drive awareness and engagement for the National Indigenous Australian Agency’s first Enterprise Agreement. This required a results-oriented mindset and the capability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Effective relationship management between the Agency’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer ensured my team understood the broader strategic objectives, operating environment and organisational impact throughout the bargaining process. I also developed a working understanding of the complex social policy issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and demonstrated my ability to engage sensitively and effectively with First Nations Australians. I met and exceeded key performance indicators; results from the employee vote indicated a 79% participation rate with 83% of staff supporting the Agreement.

I influenced the transformation of Australia’s manufacturing industry through driving stakeholder engagement for the Australian Government’s $1.3 billion Modern Manufacturing Initiative. This was the centrepiece of the $1.5 billion Modern Manufacturing Strategy; a key feature of the JobMaker plan announced in the 2020-21 Australian Federal Budget. As the Manufacturing Division’s space manufacturing lead, I worked closely with the Australian Space Agency to promote funding opportunities for projects that aligned with Australia’s manufacturing vision, goals and opportunities. Industry-led road maps guided eligibility for these opportunities. The Minister for Industry, Science and Technology engaged industry leaders from Lockheed Martin Space, Fleet Space Technologies, Gilmour Space Technologies, Electro Optic Systems and CSIRO to inform the development of these policy products. I facilitated co-design workshops and performed research and analysis to ensure the Space National Manufacturing Priority Road Map accurately reflected industry and government’s policy objectives for the future of space manufacturing. Supporting Australia’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic through the lens of reviving manufacturing policy helped me understand how to identify emerging opportunities and issues.

During the COVID-19 crisis, I facilitated stakeholder engagement and provided secretariat support for the National Industry Communications Working Group. The outcomes of the Group’s discussions influenced Australia’s economic recovery from the pandemic. I took initiative, demonstrated critical thinking and exercised sound judgement when liaising with the Group’s membership, which comprised of senior industry and government communications representatives. I received an award from the Chief Operating Officer for my exemplary work in supporting business and government engagement. I regularly advised on complex policy reforms and initiatives as account manager for the Department’s Technology and National Security Division. I represented the organisation at high profile events as communications lead, such as a launch event for the Australian Government’s AI Ethics Framework held at Old Parliament House.I also contributed to fostering a positive culture as Communications Lead for the internal Gender Equality Network.

I project managed an inaugural flagship event held in Sydney and Melbourne, the Intellectual Property Summit, using Agile methodology with Jira Software. I was responsible for overseeing a six-figure budget and small team that developed the program, speaker line-up, media strategy, branding and digital presence. I received an award from the Director General of the organisation for my commitment to excellence and surpassing expectations. I regularly created high quality, targeted content for online channels, including the organisation's website, social media accounts and newsletters. I developed high-quality communications products such as talking points and media releases. I used innovative thinking to advise and assist the executive team on communication activities. I also facilitated quarterly meetings between Intellectual Property Australia’s executive leaders and senior representatives from key stakeholder bodies as secretariat of the Intellectual Property Stakeholders Forum.
