Steps is Thailand's first social enterprise to offer vocational training to young neurodivergent people. I've joined the team to develop and apply communications strategies and systems across their print and online presence, helping them reach multiple audiences from prospective trainees to business partners. I'm applying a broad range of skills including:- Developing new processes for a range of communications - Overseeing communications activity across multiple platforms- Advising on approaches to advocacy and public engagement- Auditing, editing, writing and building web content

As a freelance writer and editor I have established clients in international media (including the BBC online and Huffington Post) as well as sustainable businesses, local blogs and print magazines. My ideal client would be an environmental publication, NGO or social enterprise, but I am open to approaches from any NGO, business or organisation making a positive impact. I am adept at web editing, writing for web (including blogs), feature writing for a variety of mediums, and have also edited academic reports and books. Through pioneering scientific research and innovative conservation projects, ZSL is working globally to save wildlife from extinction. In my role as Digital Communications Executive I had the privilege of communicating this vital work to the public through the ZSL website and social media channels.I worked with academics from the Institute of Zoology to understand the key principles of their scientific papers and to compose communications plans for engaging the public with this research online. I worked with conservationists to help them think digitally, enabling them to communicate their field work to a wide audience. Overall I was able to highlight not just the species ZSL is protecting from extinction, but the people who are dedicating their lives to this task.- Commissioned, wrote, edited and built digital content based on complex scientic research and process-based conservation programmes- Managed ZSL Official social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Google plus and LinkedIn. Worked to build engagement and grow follower numbers - Sat within an award-winning Digital team- Coordinated social media announcing a major breakthrough in combating an amphibian disease which was one of ZSL's widest reaching social media campaigns to date. The post reached nearly 150,000 people and the video viewed more than 46,000 times on Facebook alone, an unprecedented number in comparison with past campaigns. - Worked with Professor Rosie Woodroffe to produce a blog about bovine TB which achieved a higher number of views, and shares on Twitter, than any previous Wild Science blog and was a catalyst for a much more active blogging regime from the Institute- Worked with the Garden Wildlife Health team to maximise exposure to their social media channels during BBC Springwatch appearances, dramatically increasing their follower numbers. - Developed and delivered a web and social media training programme for academics within the institute.

In my role as web editor I delivered engaging and compelling digital content for a range of audiences. I wrote and edited copy for web with SEO, accessibility and usability in mind. I formulated strategies for mobilising online audiences in support of Macmillan’s influencing activities, and for better engaging with decision makers and health professionals. Achievements include project managing delivery of the Cancer... who cares? microsite and sitting on the working group for the award winning Do You Care film.

In my position for the national office of The Wildlife Trusts I maintained relationships with all 47 individual Trusts that make up the movement. I wrote and implemented campaign strategies and evaluated their impact. I liaised with key national journalists, for example in the BBC Natural History Unit, to gain coverage for The Wildlife Trusts. I was involved in working up the social media strategy to ensure the work the organisation was involved in both locally and nationally was able to reach the widest audience possible.
