I manage and deliver sustainable energy projects for a wide ranging client base and also provide technical advice to DC21, which is delivering zero-carbon solutions for distribution centres.I am a UK representative on the European Technology Platform for Renewable Heat and Cooling (Issue Group 2 Residential Heating and Cooling). Project ManagerMicrogeneration Yorkshire Jun 2005 - Mar 2008I had overall responsibility for the delivery of Microgeneration Yorkshire; the regional support programme for on-site renewables in Yorkshire and Humber. The programme was funded by Yorkshire Forward and part of the Sustainable Futures Company. We had three main activity strands: Market Development, Capacity Building and Project Development.Under the Market Development strand technical support was offered to regional technology manufacturers. We worked closely with the regions installers base, facilitating inclusion in tenders, promoting installation standards and assisting with accreditation under national grant programmes. The strand also worked to identify and undertake trials and studies on identified technical and non-technical barriers to the uptake of on-site renewables. Another key element of this strand was the development of REtool, a unique on-line options appraisal toolkit.Capacity Building: We established the Windy Network, a highly succesful practitioner platform. The network met quarterly to share best practice and trouble shoot project development issues for small to medium wind.We produced the MANY newsletter, which had a wide national readership and also managed the annual Microgeneration Conference and Awards. Represented microgeneration issues on strategic platforms; regional and national. Actively contributed to policy and strategy consultations.Project Development: supported regional installation projects, providing project design, support and management services. We developed design solutions and levered in significant LCBP/Clear Skies and BECGS funding to the region. Key Projects: Greenhouse Leeds, Windy Network, University of Leeds, York Eco Depot, Settle-Carlisle Railway, Coal to Biomass Pellet Boiler Conversion Trial, WINEUR IEE project and Study Tour to Holland, Harrogate Council.Training: iSBEM Assessor Course (2008); RETScreen (2008); Ignite Woodfuel Course (2006); Okofen Solar Thermal Masterclass (2005)
