My focus was nonprofit public relations: PR writing and PR counsel, crisis PR, newsletter and annual report copy, content writing and research for site, marketing strategies for client, event planning, development strategy and more.

I worked and collaborated with this group spearheading PR efforts for the United Way of South Hampton Roads(UWSHR) in a few arenas: Dancing with our Stars event - March 2008; UWSHR Crisis PR during Suffolk, Va tornados - Spring 2008; UWSHR Women's Initiative, Day of Caring and D'Toqueville Society events.

- I crafted, distributed and pitch press releases and alerts; - built relationships with tv, print, online and radio contacts; worked with client and vendors to build successful events; - track pr values; research appropriate media for client needs. Clients served: Tidewater Community College, Norfolk Festevents, City of Norfolk in collaboration with VELUX 5 Oceans Solo Challenge, Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center rollout and more.

Sold menu space in Charleston Cuisine magazine to the fantastic restaurants in Charleston, SC. We then marketed these annual publications to the hotel - motel association, the restaurant association, the chamber of commerce and the convention and visitors' bureau.
