2005-present - freelancer skilled in writing, editing, graphic design and video production.When I left newspapers in 2005, I continued to work for them on a freelance basis nationally. As a national stringer for The New York Times, I covered events such as Hurricane Katrina and a deadly tornado in Alabama. My food and travel stories for The Associated Press ran in newspapers and websites across the country. I also work on graphic design and video projects. I enjoy food and travel writing, and I am the author of the military-­themed travel guide "Hawaii for Heroes."

2013-2021 - video managerAs manager of the Marketing & Communications video team, I was behind the scenes on some of the hospital's most successful online content, including a series of popular patient stories and a few viral videos. I managed a budget, a team and freelance vendors. 2009-2013 - writer, editor and video producer in Marketing & CommunicationsMy favorite part of my job at Cincinnati Children's was telling patient stories. I created the hospital's award-winning "Tell Me a Story" series (along the lines of NPR's StoryCorps). From 2009-2013, I wrote and edited a consumer publication for parents, contributed to our website, blog and research magazine and worked on various Creative Services projects.

When my husband quit his office job in Cincinnati because he didn't like it anymore, I was devastated at first. But it opened other doors for us that I never expected. My husband went back to his passion: flying helicopters. That took him across the country, and it gave our family the opportunity to explore the world. We lived abroad from 2017-2018 in Zadar, Croatia, and embraced life as expats. I worked remotely in Marketing & Communications for Cincinnati Children's, one of the top pediatric hospitals in the United States. (Thanks to my boss for keeping me around!)
