Kakuma Refugee Camp

1. Sexual and Gender-Based Violence case management which involved psychosocial care, record keeping & referrals. 2. Protection mainstreaming by ensuring that persons with special needs are catered for and that vulnerable population such as the elderly, children and persons with disabilities have equal access to IRC services.Achievements: - Developed 10 monthly outreach training on SGBV awareness which resulted in a 10% increase in client services.- Trained 246 SGBV survivors on business and life-skills half of whom received capital to start small businesses.- Protection mainstreaming efforts resulted in an 9% increase in safety, dignity and meaningful access to services. - Established new Community Response Mechanism tracking tool for data analysis across IRC health centers.- Designed a risk analysis template which was used to interpret the frequency and nature of protection cases received.- Secured €300,000 ECHO grant funding for mobile emergency response through writing proposals for SGBV. - Designed and translated needs assessment questionnaires from English to Kiswahili to ensure high-quality, reliable feedback from the affected community.

- Responsible for the revival of the street children rehabilitation program. Facilitated psychotherapy for 25 children.- Trained and coached 50 adolescent youth per week on basic life skills and the prevention of HIV/AIDS. -Administered Psychotherapy and Peer Education in 10 Children Homes and Learning Centre’s and case referrals.Achievements:Negotiated partnership between Asumbi Treatment Centre where I managed to secure free rehabilitation services. 30% of the street connected children returned to their families through the Street Children Rehabilitation Program.
