Research Intern
Stanford, California
My responsibility was to research groups independently, compile profiles, and work with the head researcher. The project is dedicated to researching the history of various violent non-state actors with a particular focus on the group's goals, ideology, organizational structure, and operational environment. The purpose of the research is to understand how and why certain terrorist groups turn into the next ISIS, Boko Haram, and Al-Qaeda; such information could potentially be useful for both academic research and policy-makers in Washington D.C.
