Summary of role – Self-started Ready-To-Wear made in London womenswear brand that experiments with silhouettes and manipulating fabrics to create styles that are contemporary as well as flattering and beautiful. Manufacturer based in North London, fabrics sourced from Leicester and most recent prints produced in Turkey.Main Responsibilities• Design development and range planning for core customers. • Leading the entire production process, starting with fabric sourcing, pattern cutting, creating detailed tech-packs, producing sample collections and carrying styles through to production. • Designing original prints and sourcing fabrics and factories to produce styles. • Liaising with buyers and discussing range options and prices. Achievements• Gaining invaluable experience in handling all areas of the business from design and production through to sales and promotion.• Tonic London achieved three successful seasons and has been selling in Wolf & Badger in Notting Hill and on Not Just a Label online. • Recognised as the ‘Brand To Watch’ by Drapers magazine.

Summary of role – Reporting to Savannah Miller and Head of Design, researching and creating mood boards, as well as designing to set briefs and taking control of the production process.Main Responsibilities• Producing measurement charts across all disciplines including knitwear, jersey and wovens (soft separates and dresses), tailoring and outerwear. • Setting up technical packages from development stage and adding comments and notes to take them through to production. • Researching and creating mood boards. • Designing around focused briefs. • Creating CADs on Adobe Illustrator.• Assisting on all fit sessions. • Assisting on photo shoots and press days.

Summary of role – Assisting the entire Womenswear Design Team, reporting to the Head of Design and Design Director. Main Responsibilities• Assisting the Womenswear Design Team across wovens, tailoring, jersey and knitwear. • Researching, sketching and fitting for French Connection main line. • Assisting the design development process and embellishment/embroidery artworks. • Working with prints, putting them into repeat, colourways and re-designing them to fit themes.• Responsible for approving denim washes, embroidered and beaded artworks, prints and lab dips pre-production. • Designed a beachwear range – created specification sheets and fitted the collection made up of both jersey and woven styles.
