Responsibilities Manage the procurement of raw materials, chemicals, consumables and electrical & mechanical spares for equipment as per business requirements.  Develop & execute monthly plans for procurement of raw materials & components as per the sales forecast & plan supporting achievement of predefined production targets. Lead the process of negotiation & ordering of leather & synthetic materials, accessories & chemicals from vendors in India & overseas for procurement at right time, quality & price. Manage the procurement from various ancillary units including coordination with the production department for dispatch of cut components to the units for the production of outsourced items as per plan Deal with the procurement of capital goods including various plant & equipment as well as maintenance spares – electrical & mechanical.  Monitor & ensure on time inspection of raw materials at vendors’ premises as per approved test & inspection plans in coordination with the quality assurance department Build & maintain productive relations with vendors – 15 overseas & +85 Indian – negotiating & coordinating closely to ensure consistent on time, quality supplies at competitive prices & terms Manage the performance of the vendor base through scheduled inspections, audits and performance evaluation & feedback on parameters of cost, quality, delivery & reliability.  Lead strategic procurement initiatives including identification & development of alternate vendors for raw materials & accessories including development of Indian sources for imported supplies for achieving cost savings & reduction in supply lead time. Spearhead cost saving efforts including assertive techno-commercial negotiations with key vendors & development of alternate cost-effective sources.

As Manager/ Deputy Manager (Quality Assurance) Adhering to the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System & ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management Systems. Handling all procurement related aspects within the plant.  New vendor development, ensure receiving all bought out item just in time, maintaining optimum inventory level. Ensuring cost saving activities by rate negotiation & developing new suppliers Managing the entire purchase function of spares and consumables like grinding wheel, chisels, chemicals, electrical items, spare parts for different machine, etc Co-ordinating different rolling mills, for getting raw materials i.e rolled steel as per requirement Co-ordinating different consumable suppliers  Developing product as per customer requirements and benchmarking with international competitors. Coordinating with BIS for surveillance, up gradation and conducted renewal audit.  Responsible for coordinating 3rd party inspection with various government / non-government agencies like DGS&D, PDIL, etc. Monitoring process, conducting failure analysis, customer complaint analysis, preparation & implementation of CAPA and imparting training to the operators. Preparation and of monthly MIS report on quality issues within the plant.
