I have been working in the development sector for the last 24 years in areas of rural and urban development which include 13 years in India (Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha) and 11 years in Sri Lanka. Which is ten years as an expert in microfinance and livelihood in the development sector. I have worked in various capacities right from the grass-root level to middle-level management in CARE and UNDP programs in India and Sri Lanka respectively. As a development professional, I have a wide range of experience in Poverty Reduction, Civil Society Organisation, Integrated Village Development Programmes (IVDP))Rural Livelihoods, Micro-Finance, Sustainable Agriculture, Village Banking Model, Disaster Management, Early Child Education, Partnership Management, Panchayat Raj Institution, Gender Equity, and Women Empowerment. I am able to take initiative on my own and as part of a team, I have leadership skills and problem-solving skills - managing, developing, and motivating team members to achieve their objectives. At the same time, I learn new skills/expertise very quickly. As part of my job responsibilities, I have successfully completed several assignments with a high degree of professionalism and commitment. I have made substantial contributions to the effective implementation of the Tsunami Response Programme, development of CBOs, Micro-Finance, and Livelihoods projects, and played an important role in planning, developing, and carrying out numerous training and PRA programs. Further, I have contributed to interventions in the areas of NGO capacity building, availability and access to pro-poor services, including micro-finance and livelihoods, technology and market linkages, local-level participatory decision-making, monitoring, and evaluation with linkages to policy.
