GlobalBay was Acquired by VeriFone in November 2011 due to the success of our MPOS solution in the US region.In my current role I am actively working to resolve the technical hurdles associated with taking payments in Europe and Asia, integrating our software with local payment systems allowing the company to market our solution to a wider field.

GlobalBay began life as a small company with a customisable client / server solution, creating surveys for the market research sector. The platform solution proved so flexible the company expanded its business into other areas providing mobile software solutions. Since then we also shifted focus into retailing and mobile point-of-sale using iOS as our platform of choice.During my time with GlobalBay I have architected and developed numerous projects as an individual and as part of a team for our platform. These applications were written in a in-house (C - like) language, with some using custom Java plugins on our server (also written by me).Since the company shifted focus to the iOS platform I have been the sole in-house developer and architect for all our iOS based deployments in Europe and Asia and have also led the technical aspects of deploying our MPOS product in the region.

I worked for Communication Consultants Worldwide in 06/07 while on my placement year at University. During this time I worked with a small team on their embedded GSM radio stack. I also built a custom website for their internal bug track / testing system using Perl, MySQL, HTML and CSS and produced a number of small Java-based applications for in-house use

Elata was Aquired by Qualcomm in 2005

During my time at University I wanted to get a part-time job more in-line with my future career, Elata provided that role.Elata provided a solution that allowed mobile telecom companies to easily manage what applications (typically J2ME) could be installed on certain devices - In essence they provided an early form of app-store making sure subscribers could only purchase games and application supported by their handset.Initially working on a Wednesday I would provide internal IT support to ease the burden off of the main support team (Which also provided external customer support) during University holidays I also assisted with external support to customers and management of the solution.During this role I was exposed to a number of different operating systems and software and gained good experience in networking, and general problem solving.

Initially at 15 I started as a cleaner / greeter, later I became part of the Kitchen team as a chef.
