Operated a professional services consultancy, specializing in helping organizations utilize blogging systems as an effective means of web-based publishing and communications. As the principal of The Appnel Group I worked on dozens of sites powered by Movable Type and TypePad for companies such as Nokia, O'Reilly Media and Edmunds.com. Over time the project work evolved to include integration with social media tools and implementing scalable cost-efficient system in the cloud.

Held a number of roles during a time of hyper growth as company grew from a startup to a publicly traded company. I began as a technical lead for the team responsible for technical architecture, client relationships, new business proposals and presentations and team execution for numerous interactive projects for major corporate organizations such as MetLife. With the company growing expotnentially and gearing up to go public, I began reporting to the CTO as assigned to work with global marketing team to established the company's technology alliances program were I developed and managed relationships with major technology vendor such as Sun Microsystems, Intel and BEA. As part of this role I was required to make numerous joint business pitches and presentations at industry forums such as IBM Websphere DevCon, JavaOne, XML DevCon Europe, author white papers and conduct press interviews and was featured in publications such as m-business, InternetWorld and CRN. During other parts of my tenure I assumed responsibility for North American mobile Internet practice and lead the companies internal R&D team.
