WanderFree Traders is an Indian import-export company focused on bringing innovative international products to local marketplaces. At WanderFree, we utilize a global approach to make the world more accessible to all. In 2019, under Tara's direction, WanderFree launched India's first brand of premium multi-sized sanitary napkins, (em)PowerPads. In less than 8 months, WanderFree successfully saturated the retail market in Mangalore, India, placing (em)PowerPads in over 30 unique Indian retailers. Our clients report high levels of satisfaction at multiple levels: over 90% of surveyed end users report they would use (em)PowerPads again despite the fact that they had never heard of the brand before their initial use of the product, and we have received consistent re-orders from our retailers across the marketplace. WanderFree was responsible for the end-to-end coordination of the projects, including oversight of multiple teams, for every step of (em)PowerPads from inception to market placement.Typical tasks to accomplish this have included but are not limited to networking, communication, and communication between cross-functional parties globally, nationally, and locally; multi-level outreach (including conversations in Hindi); simultaneous oversight of multiple projects and verticals; driving quality output from local vendors while monitoring budget controls; maintaining documentation; overseeing staff with limited or nonexistent levels of English; communicating needs and successes to diverse stakeholders.Tara left India in March 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic began to force global shutdowns.

Strength India is a multi-national women's advocacy group working with local communities throughout India. We are registered as a 501(c)3 charity in the USA and a Section 8 not-for-profit company in India. Strength India implements projects focused on the advancement of women and girls from historically excluded backgrounds.Strength India's flagship program, Active Spaces, is an after school mentorship program to help girls develop Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning skills. The research behind the success of programs like Active Spaces, can be found at the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Active Spaces have helped hundreds of girls in our partner schools achieve success in academics and beyond.In 2017, Strength India's teams designed a survey to explore and understand the barriers women face in their access to commercial menstrual hygiene products (sanitary pads, tampon, etc). This study was implemented door-to-door by a team of local women, who gathered data and spoke with 2,700 of their peers from across nine states in India.Work and skills have included but are not limited to direct outreach (including conversations in Hindi); networking and communication between cross-functional parties both globally and locally; designing and implementing sound academic and product research; maintaining legal documentation internationally; engaging non-English speaking staff and partners; and communicating challenges, needs, and successes to diverse stakeholders.Tara left India in March 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic began to force global shutdowns.

• Oversaw cross-functional teams in an international environment in order to design, direct, and manage start-to-finish physical and social improvement projects through programs implemented by a local NGO.•Successful physical improvement projects included the construction of a kitchen, toilet facilities, and enclosed showers--all completed during the course of a single year, which improved a local Women's Shelter Facility in Northern India serving 300+ women. • Successful social improvement projects included the weekly distribution of fruits and healthy food supplements, collaborative therapy pop-ups, and reading skills clinics.
