I am a Physical Therapist with over 20 years experience in an outpatient orthopedic environment.For the past 10 years I have been employed as a part time Documentation and Coding specialist for Upstream Rehabilitation. In that time I've gained extensive experience auditing Medicare documentation for medical necessity, providing feedback to clinicians and leadership and educating the field on documentation and billing topics. I also created a new hire documentation feedback process which entails completing audits and providing feedback on documentation, coding and billing to newly hired therapists within the company. New hire feedback comprises the bulk of my current role.I also work PRN in the clinic as a dance medicine specialist. My journey into dance medicine began in 2019 after a pivotal interaction with a dancer. I had been observing the injury incidence within dance for a while at this point, but this experience prompted me to investigate the state of care for dancers in our area. This ultimately lead me down a path of continuous learning and professional development. Motivated by a growing conviction to serve this community, I immersed myself in numerous continuing education courses and made myself available to work with performing artists.As my commitment deepened, I started offering workshops to offer free resources to the local dance community. In August 2023, I took a bold step by launching my passion project, Performers Edge Wellness, LLC. My goal is to be the go-to provider of dance medicine in our area, ensuring that dancers receive the highest quality care and support throughout their artistic journeys. Excited to contribute to the well-being of performers, I am dedicated to making a positive impact on the dance community. I also have experience with therapeutic riding instruction and limited experience with Hippotherapy.
