I completed my Diploma of Information Technology in December; with a focus on Advanced Networking and Systems Administration. As part of my course, I worked on long-term case study projects concurrently that involved designing, implementing, and testing solutions to meet client needs.The first involved creating an on-premise, server-based infrastructure for a case study client. Working as part of a team of three, I analysed the client’s current infrastructure, identified a number of areas for improvement, and prepared a project proposal for the upgrade. I then selected and deployed appropriate hardware to host both bare metal and virtualised servers, creating a network including Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, CentOS, and both Cisco and PFsense routers. The final project contained a separate development network for testing updates, and a virtual Kali Linux machine for network monitoring.The second project followed a similar progression, but focussed on providing a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure for the client. After appraising a variety of potential solutions, I took the lead in creating a VMware Horizon environment. Using my excellent communication skills I assumed a managerial role, assigning tasks to other members of the team and providing regular status updates to our supervisor. As a result, the project moved forward smoothly, and when we encountered issues, I was able to manage resources to ensure a solution is found as quickly as possible.I am a hard worker, and a quick learner, with a positive attitude and a developed sense of responsibility and professionalism. In addition to my IT qualifications, I have a Bachelor of Creative Industries as well as a diverse skill set with experience in Customer Service, Warehousing and Marketing. This experience has provided a professional work ethic and a strong understanding of the value I can bring to an organisation.
