After 27 years in the classroom, I became an Instructional Coach for Boone County Schools. This is now my third year as IC. My focus has been on working with teachers and students toward common goals that will make an impact on their future. Through Cognitive Coaching, I have collaborated with teachers to co-design lessons to achieve student success. We develop means of support for them through conversations driven by data. I have a wonderful network of coaches across the district on my team. We support each other, as well as our excellent supervisor. I can't imagine a better, or more supportive group for a first year coach. I was a primary teacher for 10 years at Ockerman Elementary. Then, I was a primary teacher at Burlington Elementary for 11 years. Then, I became an RtI teacher, and our school's RtI Coordinator for the last 6 years. I have been a reading and math interventionist, where I served the hardest working students in the district. :) My students are why I do what I do. Building those relationships daily helps me to define my focus and do all I can to help them succeed. I hope to inspire them and let them know I am here to help them, whether it is an emotional need, or an educational need.
