SickKids site manager for the Province of Ontario Neurodevelopmental Disorders (POND) Network project (Funding agency: Ontario Brain Institute).Collaborate and problem solve with managers across POND sites on issues related to research ethics, protocol standardization, data collection and participant recruitment.Interview, hire and train study research assistants.Collect and synthesize data from all POND sites and prepare it for uploading to the project database.Facilitate layers of ethics approvals and create consent and assent forms.Routinely assess project progress to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Coordinated hospital-based and population-based studies of ADHD and associated disorders (Funding agency: CIHR).Executed a large population-based study at the Ontario Science Centre by sourcing materials; on-boarding, training and supervising staff; overseeing data collection and data transfers; liaising between the Ontario Science Centre and SickKids.Obtained informed consent and recruited children and their parents into phenotypic and genetic clinical research studies of ADHD.Organized a satellite recruitment site for clinical research studies of ADHD.Conducted diagnostic telephone interviews with participants’ teachers to collect supporting information to aid in diagnostic formulations. Analyzed online postings and interview transcripts to identify themes around ADHD, medication use and stigma.Conducted 12 semi-structured interviews with adolescents and their parents to learn about impressions of ADHD and the use of stimulant medication.Textually analyzed Facebook posts to examine youths’ beliefs about ADHD. Participated in the manuscript writing process.
