I served in the TEFL Project within Peace Corps Romania. During my service I was responsible to the Ministry of Education. I served as a teacher of English assigned to "Grup Scolar George Tarnea Babeni" in Babeni. I directly reported to Mihaela Stanica the Director of the school. "Grup Scolar George Tarnea Babeni" offered Kindergarden-13th grades of study and had enrollments of approximately 900 students.My teaching focused on developing students' speaking skills, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills. I was responsible for creating lesson plans and teaching materials for students with intermediate to advanced levels of English language proficiency. I was also responsible for giving 1/3 of the student's grades. I focused on creative methods to teach vocabulary, spoken language, reading, and other subjects in English. I also worked on community activities such as organizing a GLOW/ TOBE summer camp which was the first American style summer camp in Valcea county, Romania. Moreover, I started fundraisers and charity dances to help support other educational projects in the community. Many of my projects focus on tolerance, gender development, family planning, and volunteerism.

I was originally hired as a receptionist for Lotus Interworks and All Conferencing. Within a year, I was promoted to lead accountant. Before that time, I was responsible for all the standard office administrative duties, including word processing, answering phones, filing, and managing the office. When the accountant left the company, I was quickly trained to replace her. As accountant I was in charge of a multitude of office administrative tasks including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, money transfers, record keeping, mailing, reconciliation, projections, profit and loss analysis, and office supply purchasing.I was responsible for all the standard office administrative duties. In addition, I was hired to work on after school activities with the President and CEO’s two grandchildren, ages 5 and 7. The Company liked that I had experience in business and in child education. I was responsible for organizing fun and educational scientific experiments two to three times a week. Topics included language arts, mathematics, light chemistry, and fine arts.

As community relations director for Bluecanvas.com, an internet based social networking site for artists, I organized local gallery events, and built connections with artistic businesses around the world. I was also involved in designing and using new features on the website. I also worked on the layout and development of there quarterly magazine.

Worked as an independent art teacher. In classes ranging from three to seventeen students. The students were expected to complete guided art projects that introduced them to different themes in Western and non-western art. Between the organized projects students were encouraged to work independently on free projects that interested them. We worked in all the mail areas of artistic expression, painting, drawing, sculpture, animation, woodwork, ceramics.
