I am the holder of a two-year Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Postdoctoral Fellowship Award. In the Department of Anthropology at UVic, I am currently working on a variety of practicing and applied research projects concerning extractive industries and Indigenous territorialities under the supervision of Dr. Brian Thom. In January 2022, I will be teaching a third year course on Engaged and Practicing Anthropology.

In this role I am responsible for research design, methodologies, data collection and analysis, reporting, and quality assurance and quality control for Indigenous community-based research supporting Nations' rights and title.

As an Assistant Professor, I was responsible for creating and delivering 11 new (to me) courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, both online and in person (listed below). In this role, I launched a new research project on gendered experiences of ethnographic fieldwork in northern extractive zones - and I am currently supervising two undergraduate Research Assistants. I also maintained a robust service portfolio both within and outside UNBC, including acting as Engagement Advisor for the Faculty of Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, and Humanities. As a Research Director, I worked closely with Indigenous communities to plan and conduct community-based research projects, environmental monitoring and research, land use mapping studies, and oral history and ethnographic research.Projects included:- Culturally Important Wetland Plants - Research Support, Alberta Environment and Parks, with Little Seed Consulting- Where are the Freshwater Clams? I carry out research and writing projects related to extractive industry, Indigenous rights, and land use in the oil sands region of northeastern Alberta, Canada. This fellowship is supervised by Dr. Clinton Westman and funded by the SSHRC Partnership Grant, Cultural Politics of Energy in Northern Alberta.

Under the supervision of Dr. Clinton Westman, I carry out research activities for the SSHRC-funded project, "Taking Research off the Shelf: Synthesizing Existing Sources of Knowledge about Impacts, Benefits, and Participatory or Consultative Processes around Extractive Industry in Northern Alberta". My responsibilities include: identifying documents and studies; preparing summary report and annotated bibliography; and liaising with project partners.

I provide research, multi-stakeholder communication, and administrative support for the SSHRC-funded project, Cultural Politics of Energy in Northern Alberta: Aboriginal Communities and the Impacts, Benefits, and Consultation Processes of Bitumen, Oil and Natural Gas Extraction.

My responsibilities include creative intellectual teamwork on social media such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as generating new content for the AE/AES website (http://aesonline.org/).

I provide research and administrative assistance for the Arctic Domus research project at the University of Aberdeen. Arctic Domus (http://arcticdomus.org/) is a collaborative research project documenting a wide variety of relations between humans, animals and places where they live, with fieldsites across the Arctic. The project is funded by a European Research Council Advanced Grant.

Tutor in Social Anthropology for the course AT2009 - Reimagining Colonialism. I am responsible for preparing and facilitating two undergraduate tutorials and marking students' course work of up to 4500 words.

As a part-time instructor in Anthropology in the School of University Studies and Career Access, I taught two sections of ANTH 101 - Introduction to Anthropology.

As a Research Analyst, my responsibilities primarily include carrying out oral history and indigenous mapping research for Traditional Land Use and Occupancy Studies in northeastern Alberta. Willow Springs Strategic Solutions (WSSS) Inc. is a social science, environmental, and management consulting company specializing in community capacity-building within resource-development zones in Alberta and Manitoba, with prospects for expansion into Latin American markets (http://www.willowspringsss.com/).
