Work closely with global mobility, HR and the expat tax group on international and domestic deployments. Provide analysis of deployment terms and conditions for US tax compliance. Make changes to employee profile for foreign and domestic assignments to ensure employee receives all allowances. Process tax settlements, completion bonuses, R&R payouts, taxable expense reports, hypo tax set-up and other special requests. Provide expat compensation to the parties that are responsible for paying host country taxes. Responsible for compensation collection and converting the compensation to USD when needed. Work directly with third party expat tax service provider. Process bi-weekly expat payrolls. Process inpats on domestic payroll for US reporting. Process Canadian payroll using Ceridian's PowerPay, make all deduction changes, file and pay provincial workplace insurance. Make RRSP to financial service provider and work closely with third party actuarial service to verify RRSP accuracy. Make journal entries for Canadian payroll into the ERP. I generate and upload the direct deposit file for ADP.

Through Burnett Specialists I've been at Foster Wheeler USA. For the first 7 months I was responsible for catching up and cleaning up all of their State withholding and unemployment tax filings. And of course keeping the current liabilities current and communicating with various State Tax Authorities. Now the tax filings are handled by ADP and my job responsibilities have shifted. Now I handle the Payroll portion of the weekly New Hire orientation, set up new hire files and tax/direct deposit on a daily basis and new hire reporting weekly. I run the weekly salaried payroll, help employees with their tax related questions and keep track of employee assignments to make sure they are being taxed correctly. I keep track of employees working on visas that effect their tax status. I keep track of changing IRS and State tax and other compliance regulations.

In a multi-state, multi-company, in-house environment; I handle all withholding and unemployment tax payments and filings. When I started this job only 30% of returns and payments were made electronically; I have changed that to 100% of payments and 99% of returns are taken care of electronically (some tax authorities have no electronic return options). I file forms 941, 940, 945 and the occasional 1042. I also work closely with our Treasury and Accounts Payable departments.

I handled accounts payable, payroll, W-2's, 1099's, annual worker's comp audits and wrote the employee manual.
