Manage New York State and City government affairs for the organization while maintaining a policy and advocacy portfolio including aging, the justice system, and expanding the electorate.

Senior policy analyst and advocate for New York’s settlement houses, managing New York State advocacy activities and a portfolio focusing primarily on older adult services, behavioral health, and justice system issues, along with the Our City, Our Vote campaign to allow legal permanent residents to vote in NYC municipal elections.

Managed the Legislative portfolio for Senator Brad Hoylman in his Manhattan and Albany offices. Led various legislative and policy initiatives, especially involving the environment, transportation, human rights, and the criminal justice system. Formerly served as community liaison for the Upper West Side and West Village. Held titles of Legislative & Community Analyst from October 2014 through September 2015 and Deputy Policy Director from October 2015 through December 2017.

Coordinated successful re-election campaign for Nily Rozic to the New York State Assembly. Planned and executed fundraisers and house parties; managed external communications; built out internal databases and digital platforms.

Managed policy initiative on women involved in the criminal justice system for Assembly Member Nily Rozic.

Researched and analyzed the financial impact of Superstorm Sandy to homeowners in the Rockaways on behalf of post-disaster home rebuilding organization. Final report was used to bolster the organization’s fundraising efforts. Assisted with volunteer outreach, administration, and construction work.

Managed a caseload of constituents on behalf of Senator Daniel Squadron in his district office; helped residents navigate governmental and other resources to solve their problems. Planned Community Convention which drew over 300 residents to give input on local matters.

Led grassroots lobbying activities and direct lobby visits at state and local levels for nonprofit Smart Growth planning and advocacy organization. Represented the organization and spoke at meetings, hearings and events. Assisted with local visioning processes including organizing community meetings, synthesizing survey data, and developing land use plans. Researched and wrote about various Smart Growth-related topics for advocacy, reports, and weekly newsletter. Managed event planning for two annual conferences with 1,000 attendees, including content development, speaker communication, donor relations, and press outreach. Formerly held title of Planning Coordinator.

Served as program assistant for Mayors’ Institute on Community Design: 3-day conferences for municipal leaders and professionals to address a local land-use, transportation, or climate challenge. Developed program materials, planned logistics, and wrote final reports for three conferences. Assisted in research and writing of additional reports.
