As a Substation Design Standards Engineer I am responsible for managing the requirements, technical evaluation, and information aspects of Ergon Energy’s standard High Voltage Substation Plant and Equipment, delivering professional engineering assistance in this area through the application of well developed engineering capability and knowledge.

The Substation Design group is responsible for the high voltage and secondary systems design of major high voltage Transmission and Sub Transmission substations in Ergon Energy. This includes the layout of substations, the procurement of major plant and other equipment, the production of protection and control schematics, and detailed engineering calculations and drawings. The design is then used by SD T&P construction crews or external contractors to construct new or augment existing substations. Substation Design also provides specialist advice and support on all substation related matters both for the construction and maintenance of substations.Currently I am working with Substation Design - Northern. The Northern design group is responsible for Substation Design in the FN, NQ and MK regions. This includes the major regional centres of Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Mt Isa.
