I've always had a passion for helping those around me; from a friend in need to a lost dog or injured wildlife. Although it may sound selfish, it makes me feel good to give back. Owning a home of your own can be wonderful but navigating through the process of finding the perfect place and acceptable financing for your needs can be challenging. Sometimes even the word, "Realtor" is intimidating but I had an excellent Realtor help me and when I decided on a career change, I followed her advice and joined the same company as she had. The same company I trusted and knew had a family, not just employees. Hired to help sell advertising in the Classified Department of a daily newspaper, moved quickly into Retail Advertising Graphic Design. Later became Director of Retail Advertising Graphic Design.Designed retail advertising so as to increase readership and daily circulation. Increased advertising sales and advertisers with promotions directed at their targeted marketing groups. Helped maintain overall graphic design quality and artwork.Designed layout of advertising in sections where the advertisers would reach maximum readership and gain most notability. Designed entire special sections and inserts of advertising for holiday sales and events.Awarded two North Carolina Press Association awards for graphic design.
