I am currently the Risk Manager working on UKAEA's multi billion pound programme called STEP (Spherical Tokomak for Energy Production). Renewable energy holds a special place in my heart, and I work tirelessly to perform up to my high standards. I take my role very seriously and I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself. One of these ways is via training, and have completed the Institute of Risk Management's General Certificate qualification, the Management of Risk foundation course, and the Managing Safely IOSH qualification. I am also proficient with some Risk Management software such as ARM but also work with other supporting packages such as Safran which allows QCRA/QSRA work to be completed which is integral for project/programme delivery.But my other passion is communication, not just within STEP but also within the Risk Management team generally. If great ideas are not heard valuable input maybe lost so I empower and nurture a culture where anyone can confidently challenge ideas and speak up. I am also an active member of the Women's Network, Disability Network and I am First Aid trained. I take all of these roles seriously and I find time to do these on top of my responsibilities because they are near and dear to my heart. On a personal note I have 2 dogs who I love dearly, I enjoy walking in nature, lifting heavy weights and board games! I also spend a lot of time gardening crafting and reading!
