I administer the Student Life program, catering to the many requirements of a diverse student body. Planning, coordinating, directing, and assessing student events is one of my primary responsibilities. In addition, I facilitate employee meetings, training, retreats, and recognition while leading strategic planning activities for the department. In addition, I advise faculty and staff advisors of thirty student groups by providing support for organizational/program creation, budgetary management, Minnesota State, College, and LeadMN policy, and applicable state regulations. I participate in the President's Supervisory Committee in order to represent and express information and viewpoints about student life concerns. I am also responsible for all departmental marketing materials, such as brochures, calendars, table tents, and online content, by performing in-depth marketing research through focus groups, surveys, and needs assessments.A few of my notable accomplishments include:• Enabled $10.5M renovation of the Helland Student Center (HSC) by campaigning with student leadership to set up student center revenue fees by gathering student feedback regarding needs, financial threshold, and furnishings for renovated facilities.✓ HSC opened in 1/ 2012, growing in size from 9K sq. ft. to 40K sq. ft.• Grew Student Life department staffing from one professional and three student members to four professionals and 10-15 student members.• Governed $700K student life budget, including 35 fee-funded accounts and oversight of $400K health services contract for student clinic services.• Mobilized wide range of student organizations in organizing and hosting hundreds of events to serve thousands of students.• Planned, headed, and analyzed annual commencement, grad fair, and graduation celebration; served 400+ graduates and 3K ceremony attendees.
