About Tara Sachdeva
I am co-founder and artistic director of Compass Presents, an arts company specialising in multidisciplinary performance and interactive experience. I am based in Bristol’s Pervasive Media Studio.I am interested in audience immersion and have explored this area since our early film festivals, to more recent work creating performance environments and interactive installations at summer festivals. Commissions and collaborations include; BFI, Watershed, Arnolfini, Eden Project, Glastonbury, Shambala, Boomtown and Flatpack Festivals. I am creative producer of The Caligari Experience, a theatrical production using projection mapping, circus performance, dance and live music to create an expanded cinematic experience around the world of a cult silent film. We are currently developing this show for national touring. The Caligari Experience won the 2015 Media Innovation Award in the category of live events, performance & exhibitions.My current R&D work explores audience agency, multi-location & continuous performance, and the uses of language and voice in performance.In tandem with Compass Presents I design and deliver outreach programmes in the community for adults with few qualifications, including in creative production, digital stories, housing, volunteering, confidence building, parenting & families.
