I am an author, artist, and retired police officer who runs Tara's Happy Boxes and Purses, a business and charity that creates unique keepsake boxes and purses from vintage cigar boxes and donates them to children in need. Since May 2020, I have published a children's book, Lena and Finn, and donated over 500 boxes filled with toys, gift cards, and essential oils to various organizations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.My passion is to use my creativity and compassion to make a difference in the lives of others. I have always enjoyed drawing, building, decorating, and writing, and I have applied these skills to various projects and endeavors with my husband Jim, who is also very artistic and supportive. Through Tara's Happy Boxes and Purses, I aim to spread joy, hope, and calmness to children who are facing challenges or hardships. I am also a volunteer at Shore Medical Center, where I assist with patient care and companionship since 2016.

I retired from law enforcement in 2006 and have been helping my husband run his construction business since 1999.
