I have enjoyed working in Tribal gaming for almost my entire work history, starting when I turned 21 and hadn’t ever visited a casino before. My career began handing out food orders and branched off over the years into the Master Trainer position I currently hold. I enjoy what I do most because I love to see the “ah-ha!” moments as people learn something new. I love learning new things myself, so naturally this would be a highlight in my role. I have been in training for several years now and have had opportunities to discover new things which have helped me to grow in my career. The art of content writing and facilitation is expansive and constantly changing to adapt to the times, therefore I am constantly in my element of developing and growing. I have had many accomplishments I am proud of which make this journey even more fun. I apply this same thinking when facilitating. If I can help others to make their learning journey fun and invigorating, then I have done my due diligence. One major project I have had the pleasure of executing was our organization’s New Hire Orientation. Our team was able to take it from a 90% policy-driven snooze fest to an engaging, interactive customer service oriented orientation, while still providing the policies and procedures in an efficient way. This has helped our new associates be fully prepared to fit into the service driven culture we are so proud to offer our guests. Having the opportunities to learn new things excites me in my career; being able to pass that on is even better. I have successfully certified in NetSpeed Leadership Development and work with our middle-management team to help them develop their skills and lead their teams more effectively. I like to believe a lot of learning happens with dialogue and sharing of experiences, and being able to lead those conversations is a great skill that I am continuously developing. There are many talents, skills, and abilities I am proud of and use to contribute to the overall success of my organization. I know my day’s work is done right if my project is to make a positive impact on my company and our associates.
