The Veterans Law Project traces its roots to 2007 Congressional Testimony on Veterans Legal Affairs prepared by Tara Sue, VFW Officer Larry Dean and presented by Craig Kabatchnick, former VA Legal Counsel. Tara Sue organized the Veterans Foundation of North Carolina, making the Veterans Law Project a banner program. In 2015 Tara Sue recruited Attorney Lawrence Vogelman to Veterans Law Project, launching “Legal Boots on the Ground”, a subsidiary of the Veterans Foundation of New Hampshire, Inc. The project provides pro bono legal services to New Hampshire veterans wherever they serve. The foundation helps approximately one new veteran every day and handles a number of ongoing legal matters.

Tara Sue led the company's contract negotiations, supported programming and marketing to create the first (organizational) social network in 2003 and provide the program at no-cost to thousands of organizations. The platform was among the first to integrate blogging (Bloghoster) instant messaging (Shoutbox), monetized white label email (Outblaze) and provided video streaming for organizations (Magnify) on the company's proprietary platform which serving over 7000 nonprofits for more than 15 years.

Tara Sue astutely negotiated amenable terms for her clients, providing detailed due diligence on property assessments and inspections. Tara Sue identified affordable loan opportunities for her clients and provided home-buying consultation to low and middle income families, outlining a plan for home ownership. She successfully executed her goals of taking working poor out of government housing and into home ownership.
