I am the Legal Counsel for Probitas 1492, working with the General Counsel as part of the Legal Team, providing all aspects of legal services to the business. The Legal Team is fully embedded into the business and forms part of the Legal, Compliance and CoSec department. The department closely collaborates together on insurance, regulatory issues, sanctions, corporate and governance matters. Expertise in insurance law and with a particular focus on the Lloyd’s of London Market and the function of and providing support to, its members. Prior to qualifying, my training contract was with Lloyd's Market Association. The training was entirely insurance focused and largely based within in-house legal teams. The training included multiple market placements (with 3 Lloyd's Managing Agents and Company Market insurer) gaining wordings, legal, regulatory and compliance experience and one placement with a law firm for insurance litigation exposure. Prior to joining the LMA, I was awarded a distinction for the LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management and gained experience as a litigation paralegal at Slater and Gordon Lawyers and Simmons and Simmons, respectively. Separately, I am a keen fitness enthusiast, having so far completed three half ironman triathlon’s, three marathons and raising money for the Alzheimer's Society, swimming 10km in 2023.
